One of our special family words is Ohana – it means family and family means forever – Yes, it came straight out of the movie Lilo and Stitch. That’s where we picked it up from. Every time my children and I would depart each other’s presence we would say Ohana to one another on our way out the door. It sort of summed up a lot of what we needed to say in one word, all the love, unity and peace we had for each other simplified in one word.

Now on a side note I always thought the word was Yohana until one day I asked my friend Jody how to spell it and found out it was actually Ohana. I was floored because for so many years I had been saying it wrong. Just goes to show… you learn something new everyday!
