I have been incarcerated since *-**-**. I was put in the segregation wing and left completely humiliated. The word *people* in the quote jumps out at me, because we women in prison are in fact people! Whether innocent or guilty we all should be treated humanely and equal. For a lot of us we are not treated the same as male inmates and for some, in segregation wings are treated like a caged animal. We are not animals, just regular human beings who either got caught in the wrong setting or place, or mixed w/ the wrong *people*. What is *people* for you? The system that prison’s use are flawed and wrongfully places I feel. Too many of us suffer due to lack of education & services for female inmates. We are all *people* of society and wrong or right, are still human beings.
